Is SnapShotPro free?
Yes. The whole studio is free and open source. There is no trial clock, no per-seat pricing, and no watermark you did not ask for. Optional cloud AI either runs through a hosted backend or uses your own API key.
Do I need an account?
No. The editor opens straight into the studio with nothing to sign up for. An optional account exists only to sync your saved projects across devices.
Does my screenshot stay private?
Yes. Editing runs in your browser on your machine. Your image is never uploaded unless you choose a cloud feature such as cloud AI or sharing, and each of those is an explicit action. Read the full

What can I export?
PNG, JPEG, and WebP for stills, GIF and MP4 for motion, multi-page PDF for decks, and ZIP for batches and App Store screenshot sets. Every visual effect bakes into the export, so what you see is what you download.
Do I need an API key for the AI features?
Not always. With a hosted backend configured, AI features work for everyone. You can also bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, which is stored only in your browser and used to call the provider directly. Background removal and OCR run locally with no key at all.
Does it work offline?
Yes. SnapShotPro is an installable progressive web app. After the first load it works offline, and only cloud features such as AI generation or sharing need a connection.
Can I use it for commercial work?
Yes. You can use SnapShotPro for client work, products, and marketing, and you own what you create. Anything produced with an AI provider is also subject to that provider's terms.
